Formaldehyde removal & TVOC

When we make new decorations or add new furniture at home, the air always emits formaldehyde; formaldehyde is used as a preservative treatment for natural wood, and it has been used in all walks of life until now, but when people use formaldehyde widely, it is Ignoring one of its important properties, that is, formaldehyde is toxic, and prolonged exposure to formaldehyde can lead to the occurrence of various cancers.

 

The principle of decomposing organic matter:

Once the new composite material is illuminated, the electrons (e-) of titanium dioxide in the raw material will jump from the valence band to the conduction band and leave, so electrons (e-) and holes (h+) will be generated on the surface of the photocatalyst ), electron holes will react with H2O in the environment, and then generate hydrogen radicals (‧H) with negative electrodes and hydroxyl radicals (‧OH) with positive electrodes. These free radicals can decompose harmful substances in the environment .  

When organic substances (hydrocarbons) come into contact with the surface of the nanocomposite, they combine with hydrogen and hydroxyl radicals. Free radicals will snatch electrons from other organic substances, and the organic substances that have been robbed of electrons will degrade into smaller molecules, such as carbon dioxide and water, because they lose their bonding ability (valence). This series of reactions is academically called "redox reaction".
